My puppy coughed, hiccuped, foamed after bad medicine. Is it normal?

That is not normal. Unfortunately, we do not have over the counter meds to clear up this symptom. You need to have him evaluated by your veterinarian. The big concern here would be laryngeal dysfunction or megaesophagus.

I'm wondering if Luffy's problem while breathing might be a reverse sneeze. This is caused by any irritation to the back of the throat or nose and is usually not associated with a serious disease (see a video here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U3L4v0W2_Sw). The attempting to vomit may actually be a non-productive cough, the two can look very similar. With either of these problems a physical exam with a veterinarian could be completely normal. If you're able to take a video of what's going on you might be able to show your veterinarian during a recheck visit which might help them determine what Luffy is doing.

It could cause aspiration pneumonia if it did go down his lungs. If Moon is eating, drinking, and is otherwise normal, you can wait until the morning to have him seen by a vet. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Luke. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. I worry that he might have an upper respiratory tract infection. This is common and results in a hacking cough. Affected dogs may bring up white foamy material. If so, he will be contagious to other dogs. His veterinarian may prescribe him medication to help him feel better. I hope this information helps!

I'm so sorry Mayor is having this problem. Unfortunately, puppies can cough enough that they cough up foam. I would recommend contacting your vet. They may have you take Mayor's temperature at home to see if he is running a fever. We see a lot of upper respiratory diseases in puppies that are contageous, so they may or may not want you to bring him in to the vet. Be sure to let them know if he is lethargic and not eating or just coughing. I wouldn't worry if it was just one-time, however I would monitor the puppies for any additional coughs or signs of respiratory issues (heavy breathing, vomiting, not wanting to eat or drink, turning pale/blue, etc) If the coughing happens again, or you are seeing other signs of illness, a vet visit right away is best.
