My puppy has a clear bump and is lethargic. Should I be concerned?

I'm sorry Sally is not feeling well! The large blister definitely looks like it can be caused by an inset bite and is painful, but it is also concerning that she is lethargic. I recommend having her looked at by a vet as soon as possible, in case there is systemic toxicity from the bite.

This appears to be a pustule, which indicates a skin infection. The skin appears rather red, which indicates that something must be irritating the skin. Often, a skin infection starts due to some sort of irritation. The common causes of skin irritation are allergies and external parasites (fleas, mites, lice). However, this does not explain him acting lethargic or sick. This would be my primary concern and could be due to many different things. I think it's best if you can take Akita to get examined by the vet sometime soon. The lethargy can indicate moderate to severe conditions, so it's best if you can take him within the next 24 hours to keep him from getting worse.

The bump is probably swollen tissue, as he was bitten by another dog there is very high chances of him developing a bad infection from the bite wound, you will need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get the wound checked and he will need a course of antibiotics in order to get better.

Poor Bell! The weakness is very concerning that she is very sick. Infected wound can progress to blood poisoning or septicemia (which can be fatal if. It treated). I recommend to have Bella seen asap by her veterinarian. Hopefully it’s not that serious (skin infection and soreness could also make her tired) but she will likely get antibiotics. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors. If there is pus coming out of it, I would be inclined to think that this bump on Bear is an abscess. It would cause him pain, and also cause him to be lethargy. I would take him into a vet either now or first thing in the morning to have this bump examined. If it is an abscess, it will need to be drained and flushed sterilely, and he will need antibiotics to treat the infection.

Hi and thanks for your request. These scabs seems to be due either to a bacterial infection or possibly even to a viral one (pox virus) with secondary bacterial contamination. In this case a quick check up at your local veterinarian is essential to determine the underlying cause and treat specifically the problem. Your veterinarian may want to take some samples from the skin. Antibiotics will be required.
