Why did my 3-month puppy suddenly bite and stop using her puppy pad?

She is a baby. You can’t expect her to be housebroken or know proper behavior at this age. I recommend a puppy class so she gets socialized with other dogs and to burn off excess energy. Taking her for lots of walks and tossing toys for her to play with outside will tire her out and decrease the biting behavior. She’s just playing now, and this behavior will improve as she grows up. Personally in order to house break a dog I keep them in a crate at all times that I’m not able to supervise them so they do not have an opportunity to poop in the house. This will resolve on its own as she gets older, but there are a few things you can do in the meantime to help. Make sure that Ebby has a variety of different toys to provide an appropriate outlet for this behavior - long floppy rope or fleece toys for tugging, plush toys for biting and carrying, and smaller toys or balls for chasing and fetching. You should also provide lots of different things for her to chew on, such as bully sticks, large rawhide chews, cow or pig ears, and puzzle toys such as a Kong stuffed with peanut butter. If you are playing with Ebby and she bites you, just redirect her to one of her toys and use that to play with her instead. If she bites your hands when you pet her, calmly stop petting and ignore her until she calms down again. This will get better as she grows up, as long as you are patient and consistent.

For puppies, I recommend feeding three times daily. Make sure you are feeding enough food as well. The food you are using should tell you how much to feed him. The biting is behavioral and is a common behavior in puppies. I would recommend using a small spray bottle and every time he bites you, spritz him in the face to deter him from biting. Using puppy pads, with patience and persistence, he will learn to go to the bathroom outside. Hopefully, this behavior will decrease as she should have the majority of her adult teeth by now. When she bites you, do not engage her, but redirect her attention to something positive such as a toy. Do not play with her with your hands, not even tug-of-war type toys. If she still goes after your hands even after you have given her a toy, walk away. She needs to learn that that type of behavior is not acceptable and she will lose your attention. This can be frustrating, but is normal exploratory behavior at 13 weeks old. Like small children, puppies put everything in their mouths (hands included) as a means of exploration. Blesszuri is also beginning to teethe and can be expected to start losing her puppy teeth around 16 weeks of age. That said, she should not have a free pass to display this behavior just because she is exploring and teething. Whenever she bites or jumps on you, put an appropriate chew toy in her mouth, walk away and ignore her for a few minutes. When she interacts with you appropriately, praise her positive behavior with play time, belly rubs, or even a small treat. It can take a long time and a lot of consistency, but eventually Blesszuri will understand that she only receives attention and praise when she exhibits positive behaviors and interactions.
