My puppy ate a purple plant. Why is he so gassy, is it poisonous?

I think it would be fine to monitor him for now. The problem with it is the presence of onion or garlic which can cause intoxication. I would recommend a check up if that is the case as signs can be subtle and be evident even after 24-48hours. If not present, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Not specifically--nettles are toxic mainly to livestock, and only certain species. However, any kind of pokey weed like a nettle has the potential to cause throat irritation after swallowing and I wouldn't be surprised if Bama starts hacking/gagging after ingestion. If this problem persists for longer than a dag or so, I would recommend taking her to your vet as she may need a medication to soothe her throat irritation.

I was unable to find a hyanthia plant by searching Google and I'm thinking that you potentially meant a hyacinth plant. Hyacinths contain alkaloids that can cause severe vomiting and diarrhea. The bulb is the most toxic, but other parts of the plant can be toxic as well. If only a few leaves were nibbled it is less likely that you will see signs than if all of the plant and the bulb was ingested. If you see any vomiting, decreased appetite, or diarrhea I'd recommend taking your dog to an emergency veterinarian. Yes, you should be worried. He could have eaten something poisonous or possibly ingested something that either irritated his stomach or is causing an obstruction. Please get him to your vet for an exam as soon as you can.
