My puppy ate foam padding, is vomiting. Should I see a vet now?

You should be concerned. There may some of that foreign material/bedding stuck in his stomach or intestines causing a blockage. This can be very serious. I would consider this an emergency. Please get Chikodi to a vet as soon as you can. Not eating and diarrhea can get a 7# puppy extremely dehydrated which can be life threatening.

If he stops eating, has any vomiting, or does not have a bowel movement for more than 24 hours, then I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam and x-rays since these can be signs of a blockage.

Stuffing can act as a gastrointestinal foreign body that results in obstruction of the bowels. If vomiting is persistent, this is a strong indication that there may be either a partial or complete obstruction preventing food and water from moving forward in the GI tract. An abdominal x-ray would be the next best step to determine if your pet has a radiographic abdominal pattern consistent with obstruction. This should be done asap (as in today), because dehydration and irritation/trauma to the GI tract will continue worsening the longer it is present. If there is an obstruction, abdominal surgery may be necessary to remove it. And that's the case, we want your pet to be as stable as possible for the surgery. The longer the delay, the more weak and dehydrated your pet will be, and thus potentially less stable for surgery. This does sound serious and it most likely is not related to PanPan’s recent vaccinations. He may have developed an infection, he could have intestinal parasites, or he may have eaten something that is causing an intestinal obstruction. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian as soon as possible.

If she ate a significant amount of her bedding, it's definitely possible that she could have an intestinal obstruction. Normally, signs of an obstruction would include vomiting, lethargy, not eating, and not having bowel movements. It sounds like your pup is eating normally and having bowel movements regularly. Vomiting once or twice is not necessarily a concern is she is still eating find and acting normal - but if she has repeated episodes of vomiting, stops having bowel movements, or begins acting lethargic then I would recommend having her seen by a vet right away.
