Why does my puppy have acne-like bumps on his lips and genitals?

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. These bump are pustules, so yes, sort of like acne but it is really inflammation of the hair follicles. It can be the beginning of puppy strangles so still continue to look out for that. You have two options: 1. Do nothing and just monitor them and let their immune systems take care of it as long as they are otherwise fine. OR 2. You can use these medicated pads once daily on the affected areas until the issue is resolved. Puppies can develop a rash on their belly known as a sterile pyoderma. This typically resolves with bathing using a medicated shampoo. There is a disease known as puppy strangles. This may be what Tyson is experiencing. It is an immune disorder that being with swelling in the face. Then pustules typically develop. It is managed with drugs to suppress the dog's immune system. There is also the possibility of him having a condition called puppy strangles, which will cause spread of rather large pimples to his face, ears and neck area, and these pimples can then rupture causing discomfort for your pet. It is hard to say for sure which is likely here without a good visual of the area. I recommend considering reposting your question with a photo for a more tailored answer. If the pimples are small however, they are likely just an allergic reaction and may go away on their own, especially if there are just a few. This could be a condition called puppy strangles, it could also be Acne or contact dermatitis, those conditions are common in puppies this age. i would recommend taking Bronson to the vet in order to get it checked, depending on the diagnosis it will need to be treated either with antibiotics or with steroids.

Hi there! Puppies get "puppy pyoderma" often which often presents as you have shown in the pictures. This is very common, and easy to treat. Sometimes antibiotics are not required and they go away on their own.
