My pregnant Pomeranian is overdue. When should I take her to the vet?

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell simply by looking at a dog how far along in pregnancy she may be. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian for x-rays of her belly. The fetal skeletons are visible after 45-50 days of gestation. The x-rays will also tell you how many puppies she is expecting. This is helpful information when she is in labor. Do keep your appointment with the vet as you may want some x-rays done to know how many puppies your dog will have. This will take a lot of worrying away as you know when whelping is done.
