Yes, absolutely. Your puppy will need 4 courses of vaccinations. At this age he had one se, or at thee most two sets. Please find out where he was vaccinated (veterinarian) and which vaccines he received. If you cannot find out , treat him as if he were never vaccinated and take him to your vet for vaccinations.

I would recommend taking your new family member to a vet for a good exam. It is always important to have a new patient looked at to make sure there are no congenital defects like heart murmur, umbilical hernia or additional issues. your vet can discuss vaccines but typically in the united states we start with distemper parvo at 6 weeks and booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. congrats on the cutie

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Vaccinations are required at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age. Your vet will tell you what vaccines are required in your country and area. Deworming is required every 2 weeks from the age of 2 weeks old, to 3 months old, and then monthly. As wonderful that it is that your family is vegetarian, dogs are not. Some diets that are vegetarian can be dangerous to dogs as they don't get some of the nutrients they required. I recommend that you get a dog kibble for Leo that is well balanced, and you can add vegetables to this if you like. Especially as a growing puppy, just rice and milk is NOT ok. They need a diet that has the proper nutrients in the right ratios. Please get a good quality puppy food. Best of luck with Leo! Have fun with him!

Yes they will give all the vaccinations he needs at PetCo. He will need two more sets of booster shots to be fully protected. They will give you a schedule for his booster vaccinations and discuss flea, tick and heartworm products if they are recommended in your area. You can also get a microchip at PetCo. As far as the papers to show his breed ask your friend if they have some from the breeder. You don’t need any papers though to get him examined and vaccinated. Puppy vaccines are usually started at 6 weeks of age and repeated every 3 weeks until 16 weeks of age. A rabies shot is given between 12-16 weeks of age. From there they are boostered yearly. The vaccines vary upon location and clinic. At a petco clinic just a rabies is around $20.

He is quite handsome. It looks like he is due for his distemper/parvo vaccine and Bordetella vaccine. He will be due for his rabies at the beginning of March. In order to keep all of his vaccines together, I would go ahead and have all of his vaccines updated before having him groomed. I hope this helps!
