Why is my old Pomeranian lethargic, not eating, and licking lips?

It sounds as though Honey is quite nauseous with her licking her lips. There are many possible causes of what you are describing and because of that, I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would recommend starting with an examination and then having her blood tested to see if there are any concerning changes on her blood test. This may not be her time to go yet as she may have something treatable such as an infection. I hope this helps and that Honey gets better soon! These are serious signs and a veterinary evaluation is needed to know what is causing these and what would be best to treat it with. Poor Luckie, she sounds sick. If she is nauseous, that could cause her to lick her lips and drink lots of water. Being lethargic and not moving around can mean she has a fever or is in pain. Luckie may have an issue inside the GI tract (intestines) causing nausea or trouble with how her organs, particularly kidneys and liver are functioning as the cause for these symptoms. I recommend having Luckie examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They may recommend x-rays to look at the GI tract and/or blood work to evaluate her kidneys and liver. Good luck!

Hello. I am very suspicious that there may be something going on with Lucky. A young Spitz should be full of energy & bouncing off the walls. I really believe that your vet needs to look a little more to see what might be going on. Was any blood work or a urinalysis performed at the last visit? Was any other testing offered such as for tick disease or any other diseases that might be common to your area? Lethargy & shivering are a true indication that Lucky does not feel well. Sometimes skin infections can be quite painful and cause enough discomfort to cause them to stop eating and to become lethargic.
