My pitbull puppy's skin looks irritated. Is it an infection?

I would recommend taking Blue to a veterinarian. It looks like scars from the picture but if her skin is turning red then the redness can be allergies. It looks almost like she has hives but the picture is not too great in showing that. I would recommend a veterinarian immediately if she has bumps (hives). This is a skin infection. Medicated baths sometimes help but fair skinned dogs are more prone to allergies and skin infections. To clear this up she probably needs oral antibiotics for several weeks. This is not contagious. Some dogs develop this when laying in a moist area, or on something irritating. Please take her for a veterinary exam to confirm the problem and get medication to treat this. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Those look like pustules (pockets of infection). Luna probably has a bacterial skin infection. This is common in puppies because they do not have a strong immune system. I recommend taking Luna to a vet for a closer look and antibiotics. Good luck and kisses to Luna!

HI, thanks for using Petcoach! Poor Chloe! Thanks for the pictures they were helpful! It looks like Chloe has a skin infection based on the pictures. Pit bulls are known for having sensitive skin and allergies. The infection looks wide spread and I recommend you have her seen by your Vet. They will likely send her home with an antibiotic, something to relieve the itching/licking or chewing and possibly a medicated shampoo. If you want to try a shampoo I like the one below. Unfortunately, we cannot pull up any previous questions so I can't see those. Pets can get many types of lumps and bumps. Most of these tumors will be benign but some will be malignant and you can't tell by looks. Here is a helpful link discussing the various types of skin masses in general: https://www.petcoach.co/article/lumps-and-bumps-on-your-pet/ Pets can also get other spots and those spots on Kyro could be several things including allergies, skin mites, flea bites, ringworm (which humans can get) or a bacterial infection. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can use medicated pet wipes once a day as it may help to condition the skin (don't get any solution in his eyes or ears). Protect the areas from scratching and he may need to wear and Elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions don't start looking better within about a week or if they get worse, have him examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications or aspirate a mass if one is present. Pits may be prone to skin infections. Also, be advised that any masses that are changing or are reddish colored are suspicious for a skin cancer called Mast Cell tumor. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Thanks for the pictures. It appears as though Sparky may have a bacterial skin infection, or puppy pyoderma. A lot of times puppy pyoderma resolves on it's own. If it gets worse than this I would recommend taking Sparky to the Vet to be evaluated and prescribed oral antibiotics. Hello. Ava may have a bit of a staph infection in her skin. I recommend using an antibacterial shampoo called KetoChlor Medicated shampoo made by Virbac. When you use this, you should lather her up & leave the shampoo on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. Repeat twice a week for the next 4-6 weeks.
