Typically tapeworms can be treated with anybody worming medication that contains praziquantel . However this could just be a side effect of the poop sitting out and insects laying eggs on the poop. Deworming should not harm your dog.

That is a lovely kitty you have there! If the worm you saw looked like a little squirmy grain of rice, then Cadbury has tapeworms. This is easily treated with a cat wormer that contains praziquantel. You should be able to get that from your vet, or over the counter from a pet shop. You can also order it over the internet. Drontal for cats would be such a wormer.

Those look like they are probably roundworms. She would have gotten them from coming into contact with infective eggs in the soil most likely. (From where another dog pooped and that poop contained roundworm eggs, then your dog was nosing around near where that was (even if there was no obvious poop on the ground, the eggs will stay in the soil).
