Why is my old dog anxious, not eating, with diarrhea & accidents?

There can be many medical causes for these types of symptoms including dental disease and tooth pain, pain from osteoarthritis, organ dysfunction, or other causes. My best advice to you and Milo would be to have Milo evaluated by a veterinarian to help pinpoint a cause so he can be treated appropriately and hopefully made to feel better around meal times. I would recommend that Blaiser be examined by a vet. The symptoms you have mentioned could certainly be behavioral (sudden accidents in the house, only eating when you are near), but the wobbly appearance could indicate an internal medical illness, cancer, or neurologic disease. After a thorough physical exam, the vet may perform a neurologic exam to pick up on any subtle neurologic deficiencies. The vet may also recommend bloodwork to look for anemia, infection, liver or kidney disease, or electrolyte imbalances, all of which could cause symptoms such as you have described.

Hello, thank you for your question about Milo. I would not be too worried about the position of his tail, if he is able to move it freely and is non-painful this is likely not a problem. Lethargy and lack of weight gain are nonspecific signs that can be indicative of many different underlying disease conditions. If you are interested in looking into this matter further I would recommend having Milo seen by your veterinarian. Poor guy and sorry to hear about your mom passing. The weight loss was good for him and his health: however, his symptoms of increased drinking, urination and loose stool with accidents in the home are suggestive of possible diabetes or a urinary tract infection. His behavioral changes indicate he doesn’t feel well. I would highly recommend taking him to your vet for bloodwork and a urinalysis to check things over. His symptoms to not fit with any single disease or issue, but it could be caused by pain from arthritis, muscle problems, neurologic disease, intestinal issues (blockage, cancer, inflammation, infection), internal medical issues (liver or kidney disease), or something else. After thorough physical examination, the vet will probably recommend bloodwork and maybe x-rays to determine what could be the cause of his symptoms.

I'm wondering if Lobo could have a prostate problem causing him pain, as those can be common in unneutered dogs. He certainly sounds uncomfortable, so I'd have him checked out by a vet in the morning.

It sounds like Millie is in pain. Please have her seen by a veterinarian immediately so they can assess her. Your vet may want to run diagnostic testing such as blood work to look for signs of infection (such as pancreatitis, which can cause diarrhea) or imaging such as x-rays to look for signs of injury.
