Why is my Maltipoo crying and shaking? Does he need a vet?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. So if he is limping, he is in pain. Shaking is another sign of pain. The question is how much pain and why? Is it a minor, short-lived pain like when you stub your toe? A sprain? Or did he break a bone? The only way to know is to see an emergency vet and take some x-rays. That being said, in most of these cases, they shake it off and are walking normally within a few hours. If he seems OK to you, it is completely reasonable to let him sleep tonight and if he is not himself by morning, then see the vet first thing. If he is worrying you or any other signs arise, you always have the option of heading to the emergency vet tonight. Under no circumstances do I recommend any human pain medication - most are unsafe in dogs. However, if you want to do something for pain, ice can be a tremendous help. Applying an ice pack (wrapped in a thin kitchen towel or paper towel) to the leg for 5 minutes every 4-8 hours is great for inflammation and pain. Best wishes to you and Uno!

I'm sorry that Teddy is painful. There are many reasons he might be painful. If he is normally a very active little guy, he could have fallen or run into something to cause some kind of injury. He could have pain in his legs or his neck or back as spinal pain will also cause dogs to not want to be too active. Disk disease is a very common condition that can cause pain, although he is a little young for that. There could be an abscess or other type of infection starting to form. If he seems very painful now, I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian for an examination to determine where he is painful. They may recommend x-rays of the painful area to look for fractures or other type of injuries. You can also restrict his activity to a kennel so that he can rest. Please do not give him any over-the-counter human pain medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen or Tylenol as these can have serious side effects in animals.

It sounds as Papito is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

He needs to be examined by a vet to determine the extent of the injury. Your vet can take an x-ray to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. He may need a splint, rest, and an anti-inflammatory to treat. It is impossible to know the best way to treat without an x-ray.

It sounds like from your description that poor Trigger is painful and reluctant to move. When you stand him up, he will walk, but it appears he doesn't want to do it on his own. There could be a couple of places that are hurting him such as his neck, spine, hips, or legs. I recommend resting him for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a lead only, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful after this time, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Hello there. It sounds like Mochi may be painful. This could be due to back injury or sprain/strain of legs. However, other issues that could make Mochi act abnormally are neurologic disease or infection. I recommend taking him to the veterinarian so he can get a full examine to determine why he is acting abnormally. Your veterinarian may want to do bloodwork and/or x-rays to help make a diagnosis.

Shaking is usually a sign of pain, so it could be due to pain in his back leg or possibly due to a slipped disk. you will need to take Junior to the vet as he will surely need some pain killers at the very least.
