Is Malaseb effective for puppy skin yeast or bacterial infections?

All of the brands you listed are good shampoos. Duoxo is one of my go to shampoos but many are equivalent. A chlorhexadine/ketoconazole shampoo helps treat yeast and bacteria. The main thing is to lather Sibyl up and allow the lather to soak for 20 minutes or so before rinsing. If needed you can bathe every 2-3 days. I also recommend an oral omega 3 supplement such as Derm Caps. Remember if you use topical flea or heart worm prevention the medicated shampoos will strip it out. I find it to be drying to the skin so I don’t recommend it as a regular shampoo. If his coat is oily then it could be ok. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The MalAcetic Otic solution is very good as an ear cleanser so you can use for this. I would recommend you clean it twice weekly for now. However, if they continue to look dirty after using it consistently, it would be better to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as she may have an ear infection. Hopefully it resolves. The good news is that her skin is by no means in terrible shape, despite her itchiness. With that said, I don't see obvious signs that Hazel currently has a significant infection, but it's important to curb her itching as much as possible. The key to using the medicated shampoo is contact time. After lathering, the shampoo needs 10-15 minutes of contact time with the skin/coat before rinsing. The Dechra brand is fine. When there is an active skin issue bathing should be twice a week with using the spray or mousse in between. Once looking better, you can decrease frequency of the products.
