My 2-week-old Malamute puppy has a strange growth. Is it serious?

That looks like she has an anal prolapse, which is when the anus is displaced outside the body. It will need to be put back into place and the best person to do this is the vet. It is difficult to say for sure with just a picture but it looks like a pustule. This is common in puppies and is called puppy pyoderma. It will usually heal on its in it occasionally they will get more of them and will need oral antibiotics. Watch it closely and make sure it isn't getting bigger and make sure more aren't coming up. Also make sure she is eating, drinking and playing normally.

That does look odd. As a guess, I would suspect an infection or perhaps a prolapse. I recommend to discuss with the veterinarian some type of anti-inflammatory or even an antibiotic. The vet should also preform a rectal exam to get a better idea of the anatomy of the anus. Make sure to keep the area from trauma so She may need to wear an elizabethan collar at all times. She should also not drag her rectum on the ground (and if she does, keep her off rough surfaces). An omega 3 fatty acid supplement will not correct the problem but it may help to decrease inflammation and condition the skin. Prolapses sometimes require surgical correction. Poor baby! This could be a serious problem like a bacterial infection caused by strep called strangles or just a simple infection. I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him soon before it gets worse. This can be easily treated if caught early. I hope this helps!

It is hard to tell from this photo but look closely where the lump meets the skin to be sure this isn't a tick attacked to the skin and full (they can fill and become paler/flesh colored). Look for tiny legs or a small head embedded in the skin. If that is not the case it may be a small skin tag. I would have your vet take a look st your dog's next puppy vaccine appointment (at this age he should be seen every 3-4 weeks). If the area becomes irritated or increased in size before then, a vet exam is needed.

This looks very abnormal. I would be worried about this and I think you should have him seen by a vet. Could be ringworm, a staph bacterial infection, a spider (or other insect) bite, an autoimmune disease or the start of a cancerous lesion.

I would not be immediately concerned but would continue to watch for any changes. This does just look like a small pimple or blocked oil gland but continue to monitor for any signs of infection such as heat, redness or pain which would indicate a sooner visit may be required.
