Is my puppy a Golden Retriever? Breeder said yes, but I doubt it.

The only way to know for sure is to have his AKC/CCK or other pure bred papers. Otherwise we can only go on what he looks like! I hope this helps!

Hello. First, you can ask the breeder for proof of registration for both puppy parents. Then, look at lots of pictures of purebred Golden puppies. When you visit the litter, are all the puppies pretty similar with the characteristics seen in this puppy breed? If the puppies are not pure, you should see some discrepancies, such as different coat lengths, or white spots on the chest or paws. Hello. It’s so nice of you to help him. He is not a Golden Retriever. He is a mixed breed. He may have some Golden Retriever mixed in with several other breeds, but he is definitely not a pure bred Golden. Best of luck to you with your new addition. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is adorable! He is a mixed breed dog but a predominant breed is hard to guess as he looks very well mixed. I would say that he has some characteristics of a Newfoundland and a Bernese mountain dog. I would say that he is likely to be a medium-sized breed dog to perhaps a bit larger. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! They appear to be pure bred Goldens but you should see pedigree papers. That is the only way to prove it. You can not tell by how they look. Also you can not tell quality at this age. You should ask the breeder to see the parents, be sure they are vaccinated and cared for, have had their hips checked, etc. You can also tell quality from the Pedigree papers. I also think the darker one is better looking but I can't speak for it's quality. Since your dog Luna is also young they should get along with each other. But that is impossible to predict and dogs go through their social and behavioral maturity around 2 years of age. I have seen happy relationships change around that time. As they get older, they usually do turn more brown. So I would assume his eye color may not stay that light. I think that your dog is likely a husky mix.
