Greyhound gracilis injury: How long until he can race again?

Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 70 lbs

Hi I've a 22 month greyhound an his after doing damage to his right hind muscle the muscle has dropped known as gracilis I'm told just wondering what will it take to get him back racing thanks

This would depend on the severity of the tear. It can take a minimum of 2-3 months for minor injury and longer if he requires surgical repair. If and when he returns to competition, he will likely be slower. This could be considered a career ending injury if it is severe.
