You can try feeding Duke a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If this doesn't help, have him seen by a vet.

I would recommend using a large breed puppy food. This type of diet will have the specific balance of minerals and vitamins needed for young, growing puppies. Since Danes are a giant breed, their nutrional needs are different than your typical puppy. Some of the brands I usually recommend include Hills, Purina, Royal Canin, Eukanuba, and Iams. What a gorgeous pup! Great Dane puppies have a massive requirement for nutrients so I recommend investing in feeding a really good quality food for giant breed puppies. Royal canin does a really good puppy food which I trust for my own dogs. Don't listen to things like not feeding puppy food, there is no evidence for that. It is actually really important to feed puppy food because a puppy has different needs to an adult. Energy level has more to do with the carbohydrate in the feed rather than protein.

In order to investigate the role of food sensitivities, a hydrolyzed diet such as royal canin anallergenic should be fed for 8 weeks, avoiding all treats and flavored tablets etc. The extent of improved symptoms will give an indication if food is any, all or part of the issue. If limited improvement is noted, transition to a specialized skin health diet such as hills derm defence after 8 weeks. I recommend you contact the dermatologist before you institute changes to confirm this will not affect their protocols

Build up of gas in the stomach is often times caused by either bacteria sitting in the gut (if the intestines are not distended), or due to a foreign body obstruction or partial obstruction (if the intesitnes are also distended). If she has an underling heart condition, this further complicates things. Hmm. I'm not quite sure why your vet might have recommended against feeding a large breed puppy food, as this is normally the best option for growing large or giant breed puppies. Adult food doesn't contain enough nutrients for growing pups, and it can be dangerous to add supplements because you can actually cause damage by feeding too much of certain things like calcium, etc. I always strongly recommend a good quality large-breed puppy food to all of my clients with large or giant breed puppies. If your vet doesn't agree, I would recommend talking further with him/her to clarify why they don't recommend this, and see what they would suggest instead.

It could be that Rasta has pain in his back, hips, and/or joints due to arthritis or degenerative joint disease. This is common in giant breed dogs, and I would have him seen by a vet. He may benefit from pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Rimadyl (an NSAID) is a good drug to give to help with the symptoms of arthritis. I also recommend giving him glucosamine or chondroitin sulfate supplements. They provide the necessary nutrients for cartilage repair and function. Use of them helps relieve some of the symptoms of arthritis, and you can use it in conjuction with Rimadyl to help maximize relief from his symptoms.
