I would question all family members to ensure no one is missing anything and there was not evidence of her chewing something up. German Shepherds can experience pain in their lower backs that will put pressure on their spinal cord resulting in an unsteady gait. It is quite possible that your dog is suffering from congestive or another type of heart failure or condition. When she exercises, the heart may not be able to pump enough oxygenated blood to the brain and then she would faint. I suggest you take your dog to a vet for an exam. If there is a heart condition present then medication can make your dog feel much better and prolong her life.

Cardiovascular or respiratory issue may provoke acute collapse during intense exercise or the signs you are describing may be completely normal. The only way to differentiate between a pathologic and normal condition would be to have Ellie checked up at your local veterinarian. Keep an eye on Nyx. If she continues to be uncomfortable tomorrow, I would have her examined by her vet. It could be "growing pains" or something like panosteitis, an inflamed nerve, a sprain, etc. Try to limit activity today (only walking outside on a leash, limited jumping or running). Also, look very closely around each paw pad and between her toes for any punctures, dried mud, or objects stuck in the fur.

It could just be you are doing too much with Kitty, and she is tired and taking a break. Gradually increasing activity can help, as well as providing plenty of breaks. If this is a new or sudden symptom for her, or she seems in distress after exercise (wheezing, turning pale, struggling to get about, etc) then it is best to have her examined by your vet for exercise intolerance and to try and find a cause.

This sounds like it may be seizure activity - keep a diary of all events and altered behaviours so you can track any changes and contact your vet for a full health check and blood panel to rule out medical causes such as liver or kidney issues.
