My French Bulldog has dark skin patches, not itchy. Why worsening?

Black spots on the skin are often an indicator of inflammation. I would recommend that you have Chanel examined by a vet. Bulldogs are notorious from having many different types of skin issues, and early treatment may limit some of their severity. The vet will do a thorough exam, and may take a sample to examine under a microscope, which can check for mites, bacteria, and yeast.

That is unusual. It's possible he is experiencing some changes in his hormones. Environmental allergies and melatonin responsive dermatosis are also possible. I recommend to start with a physical exam with his veterinarian. This will help to get the process started to determine the cause. This may be a normal aging change for her. As puppies lose their puppy coats the adult fur can change color and the skin pigment can darken also. If the skin looks normal with no sores I wouldn't worry about it. If she is itchy that may cause changes in the skin color. A veterinary visit is indicated if you are seeing abnormal areas on the skin.

Skin darkening can occur due to natural aging, low level irritation from infection or allergies, a healed wound or changes in hormone levels from hypothyroidism. Darkening or changing skin color can be due to disease including allergy, flea infestation, bacterial skin disease or fungal disease. Change of skin (or even hair) color can also be completely normal especially in puppies and young dogs.
