My dog has yellow ear crust and keeps scratching. Is it an infection?

The best solution would be to have Luna examined by your veterinarian. A swab of the ear can be looked at in the clinic to determine if there is a bacterial or fungal infection. Poor Luna! Taking her into the vet on Monday is exactly the right thing to do. You can use a cloth to continue to try to wipe her ear but I would avoid making it damp as water could get into her ear That will make any ear infection worse. I would place an Ecollar on her to keep her from scratching at her ear, as that will cause trauma to the ear. You can make an Ecollar at home, and I will put a link below on how to do that. I would have Riley seen by a vet. It could be she is suffering from an ear infection, which would cause her to cry out in pain when scratching her ears and to be sensitive around that area. Ear infections in dogs can be caused by ear mites, yeast, or bacteria so you need a vet to diagnose the cause in order to get the correct medication. I'd take her into a vet on Monday.
