I just rescued a dog yesterday (she'a a puppy mill dog if that's relevant) and so far she hasn't eaten for the past 2 days, she has drank water, I read that some dogs take a few days to adjust to their new environment and that's fine, but I was given medication for her that she only needs for two more days, a pill a day, I'm supposed to mix it in with the food, but as you read before she won't eat, how should I get her to take her medication?

It is unusual for a rescue dog not to have a good appetite and be very grateful to receive a full meal - I recommend you schedule a full vet check in order to identify any illness or injury which may be affecting his appetite, In the meantime, small meals of warm, soft food and some added canned pumpkin may help to improve his bowel movements
