Those can be side effects if the medications. Anti seizure medicines such as phenobarbital and bromide can cause profound lethargy and and weakness. Tranadol and the others can make them a little unsteady. Most of the time this affect will wear off after a week or so as they get use to the medicine. If it is interfering with his day to day activities then you might want to talk to your vet about a reduced dose or changing medicines. If it is at all possible, maybe splitting some up at different times might also help

Hi. It sounds like she is VERY sick if she won't even get up to go potty. I would not suspect a parasite would be this severe. I recommend the ER for supportive care, stays and further diagnostics. If her blood was thin and she is weak, anemia could be a.cause and there could be a.tumor of spleen bleeding causing her signs. Go to the Er getaway

If she seems weak, has abdominal pain, is not eating or is vomiting, is having trouble breathing, or has pale gums then these would be reasons to seek emergency care. If not I would try to get an appointment at your vet as soon as possible.

I’m sorry Delilah isn’t feeling well. Many things can cause these symptoms. However because she is an older German Shepherd I would be concerned about a possible bleeding mass in her abdomen. These are common in shepherds. However many other problems such as heartworm disease, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, and anemia from other problems would also be on my list of concerns. I’m glad you are going to have her seen tomorrow. If she gets worse tonight you can always take her to an emergency clinic if you are concerned. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon.

While it's possible that this was related to the trazodone causing sedation, this is a relatively low dose for a dog her size and I would think you would have seen signs sooner. It is possible that she had some hip pain. Other causes of uncoordinated movement would include a neurologic problem like a seizure, or certain toxins. If she seems to be her normal self again I think it would be safe to try another dose of trazodone during the day when you can monitor closely (check with your vet first). If she is still not walking normally or seems painful I'd recommend having her examined by your vet.

Hi there. I would be concerned with Hershey developing serotonin syndrome with concurrent use of trazadone and fluoxetine especially if you are giving them together often. It has to do with how the drugs are metabolized in the body and what receptors they work on. Side effects can be as you have listed, as with diarrhea, labored fast breathing, etc. I would try calling your doctor to discuss changing the dosages or weaning off the trazadone altogether. She could have arthritis in her rear legs, degenerative myelopathy, neck or back problem, etc. She should to be examined by a veterinarian to determine the exact cause. Your vet can do a full orthopedic exam and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory and or pain medications to help.
