My dog's weak, not eating, bleeding, and antibiotics aren't working.

There is not enough information here for me to properly help you. If a vet, in person, has not been able to help you I don't think us, over the internet without examining the dog or knowing the history, will be able to help you. My recommendation would be to get a second opinion from another vet if your current vet is unable to help you. If he is unresponsive to antibiotic therapy the type of antibiotic may need to be changed or he may need to be on a couple antibiotics at the same time. Not to scare you but cancer is VERY common in Boxers and being that he is older and he is not responding to therapy I would have this a differential diagnosis. I don't know what diagnostic testing has been done (if any) but that is often important. If you don't allow any testing to be done the vet is only doing his/her best to guess what might help. Some things cannot be fixed without testing. Regardless of all that, it sounds like his condition is very serious and that he may be suffering. If nothing can be figured out then you may need to consider humane euthanasia if his quality of life is not good. Of course, you know him best and I am just speculating but you should have that in the back of your mind if treatment is failing to cure him. I am sorry you are going through this. From what you are describing it sounds possible that he could have ingested a toxin, have a urinary tract infection, an infection of the prepuce, or an issue with his kidneys. Because he is so lethargic and not eating I would suggest a trip to the veterinarian as soon as possible to a diagnosis and appropriate treatment. If you can collect a urine sample to bring in that would be helpful. Hello. It often takes a bit of time for some infections to clear, but if you are concerned, please have her rechecked as soon as possible. This may be an indication that a new, or another antibiotic needs to be added to her treatment. Another option is to have her re-evaluated at a referral clinic, one that has multiple specialists. Sometimes, it takes a fresh pair of eyes to diagnose a difficult problem. Do not wait to see what happens since she is obviously worse. Antibiotics typically improve UTI signs within 1-2 days so Bakka could have something else like a stone in his urinary tract or even an issue like a prostate gland infection or rarely cancer. As the antibiotics are not working and a stone could cause him to be unable to urinate and have kidney damage, Bakka should be seen by a veterinarian.

There are many causes of inappetance so it is hard to say for sure what the cause is in Chester. Something is bothering him but without examining him and without testing, I cannot say for sure what it is. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Sorry to hear this, it isvery promising that his bloods were good and dehydration alone can certainly make an animal feel very poorly. The prostate being enlarged could be a number of things. In uncastrated dogs the most common thing is enlargement due to hormones, however I see your dog is castrated. In this case enlargement could've due to a tumour but likewise could be an infection. I would suggest speaking to your vet about this as a biopsy would help to determine the exact nature of the enlargement and put your mind at rest. I think you need some more information before you can determine a prognosis.

Poor kallua. As she has not responded to a week of antibiotics it is time to investigate further. An ultrasound exam to assess bowel, bladder and womb may be helpful in determining the underlying cause and guide further treatment.
