My dog is warm, whining, clingy, and having muscle spasms. Vet needed?

Her symptoms are are non-specific and can mean a lot of things. A poor appetite, shaking and panting can indicate pain or a fever. She could have hurt her neck or back, have lyme disease, pancreatitis, a foreign body (something stick) amongst many other things. Definitely call your Vet when they open and have her seen today. Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Your description sounds most suspicious of generalized anxiety. There may have been something that spooked your dog recently to cause the behavior change, making him want to be near you all the time and causing him to seek reassurance. However, given his breed, it's also possible that he's just got too much pent-up energy - many high energy breeds can develop either anxiety or boredom if they aren't given an outlet for their energy and a way to tire themselves out. I recommend making sure your dog has a way to RUN his energy off daily. (with his breed and age, a walk probably won't cut it). You can take him running, or if he's ball motivated, throwing a ball is a great option to get him running. Fenced in dog parks are good options too. If tiring him out doesn't help reduce his clingy behaviors, I recommend consulting your vet and having them do a physical exam and likely some screening bloodwork. Sometimes panting, whining, and being generally clingy are the dog's way of telling us that something's not right, which can be the first sign of a disease or health problem. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Mags! Can you take her temperature rectally? Anything 103 F or higher is a fever. Causes of a fever are: Lyme disease, immune conditions, infection (urinary, joint, lung) or pending GI upset. If she isn't better by the morning she should be seen by your Vet. I wish you the best!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Ivory! There are many causes for Ivory's symptoms. Crying and acting restless is usually a sign of pain. It could be orthopedic pain meaning her joints or a legs hurt or her back hurts. Or her stomach could hurt from gas or cramping. It is good that her gums are pink! If Ivory is trying to vomit and nothing is coming up or her belly looks distended then that is an immediate emergency and she should go to the Vet ASAP. You could take her temperature rectally with a digital thermometer if you want to see if she has a fever. Anything over 102.5 is likely a fever. If her symptoms aren't improved or she gets worse I recommend you take her to your vet this morning. Good luck!

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Although Mya is still eating, drinking, and having normal bathroom habits, the shaking and lethargy is a concern. Shaking can sometimes be an indication of pain or discomfort in dogs or can be a symptom of certain endocrine diseases. I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. In this case, it is very hard to say for certain what is going on with Mya without examining her first. A veterinary exam would be a good place to start so she can be evaluated head to tail. Your veterinarian may recommend blood work and/or x-rays be run on Mya as well to help determine a diagnosis. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Panda evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam.
