My dog is vomiting yellow/green, lethargic, and not eating. Is it flu?

Thank you for posting your question. If you have introduced a new diet or treat prior to these symptoms arising, that could be the cause and could be a bit of dietary indiscretion. In regards to the canine flu, there are typically other symptoms that we will see and they do not fit the typical presentation. I would say that if their symptoms are no better after doing 24 hours of pepto bismol, I would have them checked out at the vet. Another possibility is that they both got into something toxic. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. The flu you had would not transmit to Ace so you do not need to worry about this. I am concerned that he may be dealing with a systemic illness such as liver disease or kidney disease or an infection. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would initiate a bland diet of chicken and rice and also add in a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora which can be found online quite easily. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. It sounds as Johnny is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

It is unlikely that he caught the flu from you. It's more likely he had a touch of gastroenteritis. If he is eating and drinking and not vomiting he should be over the worst of it. If it starts again take him to the vet in case something else is going on.

Vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy are quite concerning in any dog, especially puppies because of the diseases they can get such as parvovirus. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. They would be able to check for this disease as well as checking for other possibilities such as intestinal worms or other infections. The sooner these diseases are diagnosed the better the outcome tends to be. At the very least, Gus can be started on anti-nausea and anti-diarrhea medications and his hydration status can be checked.
