My dogs are vomiting, lethargic, and have diarrhea. Vet visit needed?

They may require fecal testing and medication to clear up their symptoms. I worry that they may become dehydrated as well with losing fluid in the both the vomit and the diarrhea. I would encourage them to drink frequent small amounts of water. It is generally safe to withhold food for 18-24 hours in a effort to rest the gastrointestinal tract. An upper respiratory tract infection is usually indicated by coughing, sneezing, eye and/or nose discharge and bringing up white foamy material. The diarrhea may or may not be related. They will need to see their veterinarian if their symptoms persist. A lot of times an antibiotic will be prescribed. In the meantime, encourage them to continue drinking so that they do not become dehydrated. It is generally safe to hold a dog off of food for 18-24 hours to rest the GI tract. It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.

Clearly, she feels pretty awful. She will absolutely be best off if you take her to a vet right away for anti-nausea meds. This way, he/she can take X-rays and make sure Pippa doesn't have a foreign body somewhere causing a blockage in her system that would require surgery to fix. If you wait, she needs to be getting better and better, feeling more spunky, and slowing way down with the vomiting, or I'd be very concerned.

If he is lethargic right now, I would get him seen now because he is likely dehydrated and needs fluids administered under the skin for hydration. No, the questions aren’t linked. I will usually be okay with an upset tummy for 24 hours, so if it’s been longer than that, Quintana should probably see the vet. The green means that her stomach is empty and she is starting to pull fluid from the upper small intestine (where bile enters). The vet may recommend a Parvo test, bloodwork, or x-rays to see what is causing her sickness, and can make an appropriate treatment plan when they have a better idea of the cause of her vomiting.

It sounds as Fify is suffering from a serious gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need to have an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
