My dog is throwing up and has diarrhea, did he eat something bad?

He could have gastritis from the sock irritating the stomach, But I worry that he may have something else in his stomach or intestinal tract that is causing the vomiting. If he vomits tomorrow morning then I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian. They will likely recommend an X-ray to look for an object/ obstruction. Buck could have a parasite or infection causing the vomiting and diarrhea. Your vet can test a stool sample and prescribe medications to treat. He may need a dewormer, antibiotic, anti-vomiting, and/or other medications to help treat. You can also feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice and add a probiotic to see if that helps.

Considering your description of the signs, Harley may have a possible gastrointestinal infection and require treatment with dietary change (bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portions every 6 hours for 4-5 days), antibiotics, probiotics, antiemetic medications and eventually gastroprotectants. Ask your veterinarian to check her over and discuss these treatment options (on prescription).

I'm sorry to hear Brodie is not doing well. I would definitely change him back to chicken and rice but I would go ahead and take him in since its been 3 or 4 days of an abnormal stool AND he vomited. They will likely check him for parasites and prescribe medications to calm his GI tract. Better to get in under control sooner rather than later. Hope Brodie feels better soon!

If Dakota is still experiencing vomiting and/or diarrhea, she should be evaluated by her veterinarian. If a dog gets excited or worked up with play time or exercise, a small amount of diarrhea is common. However, it should resolve and there typically isn't vomiting. Good job on holding her off on dinner. Sometimes resting the GI tract can help resolve the vomiting and diarrhea. It is fine for a dog her size to go up to 24 hours without food, but always provide water so she doesn't get dehydrated. She may need fecal testing to rule out intestinal parasite or potentially bloodwork if the doctor suspects a more systemic problem. If she has abdominal pain, then x-rays will likely be warranted. Hi there, it sounds like they both have a touch of gastroenteritis which could have been picked up from the water or because of the new tests upsetting their tummies. I would starve them 24 hours then feed plain chicken and rice for a day. If they are getting worse go to the vet. Try and avoid letting them drink water outside from now on.

It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking Lucy to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
