Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 1 month old

My dog has had what I think was a mammary tumor for a while they said they could do surgery but she might because it’s on some kind of wall area and I don’t know what’s going on rn we try to clean it and keep it wrapped up but what do you think?

The tumor has become very ulcerated and necrotic. It needs to be removed, likely by a specialist. In the meantime, she should wear a cone to prevent licking and a t-shirt to prevent it from rubbing on the ground. She may need antibiotics to treat any underlying infection and pain medication. I would have her assessed by a veterinarian asap.
