Why is my dog's tummy skin peeling, flaky, and bald after a bath?

These red/flakey patches often occur due to a bacterial or fungal infection. It's also possible that this is due to ringworm (a fungal infection). It's best to get it diagnosed by a veterinarian, because ringworm can spread to different parts of the body and can spread to people. Also, the more involved the infection, the longer it will take to clear. For now, I recommend washing your hands anytime you touch Lucky. I recommend cleaning his belly with a medicated wipe or shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day until the skin appears normal. If it seems to get worse, or not better within a week, then you'll want to take Lucky into the vet for an exam. Hi. It looks like Jack has a bit of pyoderma or skin infection on his belly. It may be a hypersensitivity reaction to insect bites or contact allergy or he may have a mild bacterial infection. Dogs that swim a lot in ponds or creeks may get this. If this is his only sign and he is not painful or itchy then bathing with a mild antibacterial shampoo may clear it up. If it's bothering him or seems to spread or get worse I recommend taking him into the vet.

Based on the photos, it appears as though Galbi may have a bacterial skin infection. This could also be the start of what we call seborrheic dermatitis. I would use the shampoo and spray as I had previously recommended (Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combo and the Malacetic conditioning spray, both of which can be found online quite easily). If there is no improvement or it worsens, then I would still recommend having a veterinarian take a look at Galbi for further treatment recommendations.

That looks like a skin infection - could be due to an injury. I suggest you use this product on him but you can also try Neosporin or other topical antibiotic cream. This looks potentially like a superficial skin infection. Skin infections like this can occur secondary to allergies, fleas, or sometimes to contact with an irritating substance. I would recommend having your veterinarian take a look. They might recommend topical treatment or an oral antibiotic, or they might want to do some testing as well.

Sorry to hear that Rylie's hair is not looking it's best. If she is developing bald spots I would be concerned about some underlying skin or metabolic condition going on. She likely needs to have her skin examined and potentially a few test (skin scrape to look for mites/bacteria/yeast, fungal culture, etc). A simple thing you can try at home is bathing her in an oatmeal based shampoo to see if that helps, as it won't hurt her. However if you don't see any improvement and/or her bald areas are getting worse, I would take her in to have a vet look at her as she may need medications.
