What's this new skin issue on my dog's stomach? Should I worry?

I would get that checked to be safe. It looks a little like a staph infection or, more concerning, ringworm. Ringworm tends to be itchy and spreads and is highly contagious to other pets and people in the household. Your vet will do an exam and some labwork to determine the cause and based on those results will be better able to tell you what is going on and the best course of treatment.

This looks very abnormal. I would be worried about this and I think you should have him seen by a vet. Could be ringworm, a staph bacterial infection, a spider (or other insect) bite, an autoimmune disease or the start of a cancerous lesion.

You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It may be the picture but I am concerned that there may be also a lump as well. If that is the case, that should be evaluated to know if it is actually a growth. Good luck and have a good night!

Hi there ! The spot there looks like a possible bacterial infection. If you can’t see any others I would recommend to wash the area with some chlorexidine based disinfectant for dogs. Hope this helps !

I'm wondering if the 'pimple' in the first picture is potentially part of her spay scar and a suture reaction if she was recently adopted and spayed. You may be able to feel some 'firm' tissue beneath this area if that is the case. It's also possible that this is a small skin mass that has become infected. Dogs can develop milia, but milia are most commonly seen when there is excess cortisol due to a disease like Cushing's. The milia do not typically require treatment but the underlying disease does. Cushing's is common in middle aged to older dogs and other signs include increased thirst, hunger and urination. I think it would be a good idea to have a veterinarian examine her skin to make sure treatment for an infection isn't necessary, and to discuss testing for Cushing's disease if she is showing any other signs.

I would advise taking Remy to your veterinarian and let them gather a history and perform an examination. Based on their findings, they will probably advise treating this infection. This may involve a medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics, anti-itch medicines, etc. Good luck with Remy. This type of skin infection is NOT contagious to other dogs or people.

This looks like a mild Staph bacterial infection of the skin. I suggest you use these medicated pads on those areas daily for about a week. If no improvement then have your vet check him out.
