My dog is throwing up after neuter surgery. Is this normal for him?

  Diarrhea and throwing up can be caused by a food sensitivity, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, an intestinal blockage, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc. 
  I would fast Loki for 24 hours and then put him on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the vomiting or if he still appears ill or lethargic, you should take him to your vet for a recheck. This may all be stress related, but you never know, there could be a gastro-intestinal infection as well.
  It is better to feed chicken instead of turkey, as turkey contains tryptophan, which can make your dog sleepy and lethargic.

  Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. If he is still eating and energy level is good, I would continue with the bland diet. I would also add in a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora which can be found online or at a pet store. If the diarrhea does not let up and he continues to vomit after another few days or he worsens, I would get him seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
