Dog's throat lump leaking fluid after vet visit. Should I call vet?

If the lump continues to weep blood and pus, he should be re-examined by your vet. If it is an abscess/pustule then your dog will need an antibiotic. Your vet can perform a fine needle aspirate to help determine the type of lump. You can also spray the lump with an over the counter product, like Vetericyn Plus Spray and see if that helps.

You should give the antibiotics a couple days to work, i am hoping that by Sunday you will start seeing some improvement. if by Monday it is not getting better take him back to the vet, it might need to be opened surgically in order to drain the fluids that are accumulating on that spot.

Yes! If there is no improvement then he definitely needs a recheck. They can always aspirate or biopsy a sample of that growth to determine if it is a lymph node or a salivary gland because it may need a surgery ir simply stronger antibiotics. Blood work may not be a bad idea either to make sure there isn't a systemic infection.

You don't mention exactly what the first growth was that was removed from the left side of his neck, but hopefully that was either benign, or perhaps not but was completely removed with the surgery. It may be infected and he might need an antibiotic. The best thing would be to have your vet look at it again and prescribe an antibiotic. It could also just be removed so it doesn't swell and bother him again.

If it still feels like there is fluid under the skin you can try applying a warm compress over the wound for 10 minutes. You can repeat this every few hours, and it may allow the would to reopen. If there was no more fluid or drainage at the time it closed, he may no longer need the opening. If he does, your vet may need to insert what we call a "drain" into the wound.
