Why are my dog's testicles and leg swollen, and he can't stand?

Hello. My dog is in serious condition The vets cant diagnose his condition He has swollen testicles since past 2 weeks,right side hind leg is swollen He can’t walk at all we pick him up He hasn’t peed since 2 days,because he can’t stand up.1 vet said its congestive heart failure the other vet said its a snake bite,although there are no bite mark and his body is covered with these red spots When we massage his swollen leg water-like fluid comes out and his testicles bleeds and also has some puss

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If you have not had any blood work done on Rooney, I would get him back to the veterinarian and have this done to help determine what this could be. I am concerned that this could be a cancerous disease process causing this. The fluid in the leg and swelling is from edema from the sounds of it. I am unsure about the testicles but the scrotum may also be filling with edema if there is an imbalance of protein in the body. A snake bite is a possibility but many times you will see puncture marks where the fangs penetrated the skin. There may be a tumor in the scrotum as well, which may be causing the drainage in the leg if it is affecting the lymph drainage to the leg causing the fluid to accumulate more and more. If you have the option to go to a veterinary specialist I would certainly recommend doing so to help figure out what is going on.

My dog's testicle is swollen and he's acting weird. What should I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am worried about this. I would advise that you go ahead and give a dose of the Benedryl and then get him into the vet as soon as possible- tonight with the ER vet is ideal. This could signal an allergic reaction, or a viral/bacterial infection. But I am most worried about something extremely painful such as a testicular torsion (where the testicle twists on itself, cutting of blood flow and causing swelling). If you can’t get to the vet tonight, ice the testicle for 5-10 minutes every 2-64hours to help with pain and swelling. Place a paper towel or thin cloth between the ice pack and his scrotum. Dog's back legs and scrotum are swollen. What should I do now?

This is very serious. Rex needs to see a veterinarian right away to determine what is going on and get started on treatment. It looks like Rex has edema in his lower legs, which happens when there is obstruction of fluid flow up the leg or when protein levels in the blood get to be too low. The swelling around his prepuce could be edema, or could be internal organs that have escaped through an abnormal opening his in body wall. Best of luck to you and Rex.

My senior dog has swollen testicles and a wound. What are my options?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I’m sorry to hear Cutler isn’t feeling well. Without seeing him it’s very hard to say what’s going on and how to treat him. I do recommend he is seen by a vet to determine what’s going on. Being an older, intact male, I would be worried about something going on in his testicles or prostate. In the meantime, you could try applying a cold compress to his scrotum for 10-15 minutes a few times today to see if that helps with the swelling. After 24 hours, I would switch to a warm compress (not hot). If that doesn’t improve, I would recommend an exam. Good luck and kisses to Cutler!

Why are my 11-month dog's testicles red, swollen, and painful?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Gino! Is Gino eating and drinking? Is he urinating? Is there anyway you can re-post with pictures? Gino could have a testicular torsion, urethral prolapse (especially if you are seeing blood at his penis), a urinary tract infection or simply a skin infection on his belly or testicles or even fleas. I recommend extruding his penis and looking at the tip, checking his skin for fleas and pustules or red bumps. And if he is having trouble urinating and/or isn't eating he needs to see a Vet. My dog's back leg is swollen. Vet gave meds, what else could it be?

I can see the swelling from the pictures you posted. It appears the swelling goes form the foot all the way to the knee. I see that you live in an area where snake bite is possible. I would check thoroughly for any punctures along the entire leg and see if Diamond is painful in any particular area. If not, other causes of swelling like this could include infection, allergic reaction, trauma, cancer, among others. Sometimes swelling in an entire limb can be caused by decreased lymphatic flow - this can be caused by damage to lymph nodes or a structure under the skin or inside the body that is impinging on the lymph flow. I have also seen swelling like this with a flare-up of a mast cell tumor elsewhere on the body. I agree with your vet; if the medications prescribed to not make a difference, additional diagnostics are warranted. They may include bloodwork, abdominal x-rays, tick testing, or sampling of any small masses found.

Why is my dog lethargic with a swollen testicle and not playing?
