My 1-year-old husky mix suddenly won't eat his food. What's wrong?

Not eating can be a sign of illness, but given this is the first time he's done it, I wouldn't get too worried just yet. Keep an eye on him for now, and if he doesn't eat breakfast in the morning, then I would be concerned and have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

Lethargy and a loss of appetite are both signs of illness that can include dental disease, systemic illness, infection, or injury. Without seeing her in person, I can't narrow it down. I'd have her seen by a vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms and can treat her. Best of luck!

However, it is important to continue her on puppy food for at least another 2-3 months. This will let her grow appropriately as needed. You may try highly palatable kibble blends like the shredded blend diets from Purina Pro Plan or possibly canned food. Good luck and have a great day!

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear that Bufford is having a problem with his diet. This happens occasionally due to a few reasons including boredom with the same diet, loss of satisfaction from the food, oral discomfort, jaw pain, among others. Your veterinarian can perform a physical exam and then advise some diet recommendations or advise some testing to evaluate his health (fecal exam, blood tests, x-rays, etc). Unless you can find an appropriate diet they he likes I would let your vet take a look at him and go from there. Good luck with Bufford.
