Why is my dog suddenly weak, sleepy, and having trouble walking?

Lack of energy can be the sign of many things that go from just being tired to actually representing a problem like due to pain for example. If he is otherwise fine, I recommend you keep a close eye on him for now. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would be worried about a few things regarding Bindi with what you are describing. One possibility if a bleeding tumor. If Bindi is older (>4-5 years old) this becomes more likely. You can look at her gums to see if they are pink or white. Otherwise, it is possible she got into a toxin (like marijuana) which can make her sleeping, be normal when 'roused' but otherwise be very flat and tired. If she is dribbling urine this is more likely. There are many other conditions as well. I would suggest calling the clinics in your area and finding one that does out of hours calls to see if they could see you. There are many other causes for her clinical signs, and without seeing her or knowing more it is hard to narrow it down. Best of luck with Bindi.

If Lil Bit is weak and lethargic, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him and test his blood to see if there are any abnormalities that need treatment. There are many causes of what you are seeing and a simple blood test will help rule out many various causes. He may also be dehydrated so you can mix pedialyte with water in a 50:50 mixture and give him 1-2tbsp by mouth and see if this helps. However, it would be best to get him seen by a veterinarian sooner rather than later in case there is something more serious going on. If he is one to eat objects that he shouldn't, he may have an intestinal obstruction causing these symptoms and abdominal x-rays would certainly be warranted to help rule this out. Loss of appetite and weight loss can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. He may be so weak that that is why it seems like he is urinating and defecating in his bed and laying on it. I recommend that you have Rooney evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. I’m sorry to hear that Beans isn’t feeling well. Back pain could cause these signs, but so could extreme lethargy from a myriad of other issues such as anemia, kidney disease, liver disease, etc. If she is as weak as you describe then I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I recommend that you have Tippy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Since Beki is exhibiting a variety of symptoms (not eating and walking abnormally) I would recommend you take her to the veterinarian to be checked out. She could be suffering from back/spinal pain or abdominal pain from something like pancreatitis. A physical examination by your veterinarian will help determine the cause of her discomfort.
