Pet's info: Dog | Chinese Crested | Male | neutered | 12 years and 5 months old | 16.2 lbs
I took my Chinese Crested dog to the vet today about diarrhea, and the vet did a rectal exam on him and prescribed bland food. 3 hours later, I'm noticing my dog straining to defecate (nothing is coming out) and he has a brownish-red anus. I'm wondering if that's normal after the exam, or should I be taking him to an emergency clinic (his vet is closed now)? I don't want to stress him any more, but I'm worried that this is a new symptom since we saw the vet earlier.
