As long as she is acting ok you could monitor her for additional signs. If she starts retching, seems uncomfortable, starts drooling, is painful, or the distension persists then she should be examined by a vet. Your vet can take an X-ray to evaluate her abdomen and determine the exact cause of her problem.

These signs may be compatible with a bloat and gastric torsion, even though now there are none showing (they can restart again). I would recommend an immediate check up as this disease represents an emergency and can lead to fatal consequences.

Hello. If Bromley is sleeping well, then it is probably not an emergency. If he were to start breathing very heavily, retching, pacing, drooling or acting at all painful, then you do need to have him looked at. But upset stomachs do occur in dogs. He may vomit, or have a day or two of diarrhea, but as long as he is eating, drinking & seems fairly normal & active, these things are pretty much self-limiting. If Bromley, however, seems at all unwell, or you are really concerned, it never hurts to have things checked out as soon as possible. This is very very concerning and he needs to be taken back to a veterinarian. There is a possibility that he has an intestinal obstruction, or other serious intestinal problem, The next step would be xrays to see whether there is excessive gas and something blocking the intestine or stomach exit (pylorus). Please take him back to your veterinarian for a recheck.

Typically you are going to have a sick dog on your hands that will be panting, vomiting, lethargic, etc. The only way to confirm this though would be with abdominal x-rays. I can certainly understand being concerned about Niko! If he did have bloat, you would see unproductive vomiting, abdominal pain, an enlarged belly, restless, and pacing. It could be that he is feeling unwell from stomach upset causing the burping and strange behavior. The shaking could be caused by pain. I would monitor Niko for now. If he does start to show signs of bloat, or starts vomiting and becomes very lethargic, I would have him seen by an emergency vet. Otherwise, have him seen by a vet in the morning should these same symptoms continue.

If she is resting quietly, not vomiting, and having no breathing issues then she is probably fine for you to just monitor her now. I strongly suggest you don't feed her anything for 24 hours but make sure she has plenty of water available to drink. If she is having any troubles then she needs to go to the emergency vet.
