My dog is staring, restless, and has a fast heart. Should I worry?

Hello there and thank you for your post! This type of behavior some dogs will exhibit when they are scared or not feeling well. Her gums and heart rate won't tell you everything but good job checking those. If she is seeming off to you, I would get her seen by a veterinarian so that a full physical examination can be performed in order to pin point any problematic areas on Yari. Blood work may be something to consider to get a better picture of what may be going on.

Her breed and what you describe are very typical of this. But other things such as infection or orgsn disease are possible. I think regardless of cause, Sophia needs to see the doctor for a good physical exam and some prescription pain medication if appropriate. Best of luck to you and Sophia.

You should get your dog seen by our veterinarian right away. Rapid heartbeat in dogs could indicate that he is in pain, has heat disease, an electrolyte imbalance or another hidden condition. Left untreated it can lead to injury of the heart itself and/or congestive heart failure. Your vet will do an exam, blood work and x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan.

She may be dehydrated from the vomiting and the shivering may not be due to her being cold but may be due to her not feeling well. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have her checked out by her veterinarian. I know that now she is feeling better but making sure she doesn't have anything more going on with her and making sure it wasn't a seizure. From this description, I'm worried about a heart murmur. An heart murmur is turbulent blood flow in the heart and if it's severe enough you can actually hear it or feel it from the outside. This can lead to congestive heart failure. I would recommend scheduling a vet appointment tomorrow morning, or going to an emergency clinic if he is breathing rapidly (more than 30 breaths a minute while resting) very lethargic, or his gums look pale.
