My dog just had a splenectomy. Is some incision bleeding normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | neutered | 95 lbs

My dog had a splenectomy today and the incision is bleeding a little bit after he got up and went to the bathroom is this okay ?

Hello. A little skin oozing is not unusual, but you might want to put a wrap around Max's abdomen. You can use any absorbent pads on the incision ( like a maxi pad ) & then secure the pad snugly, but not tightly with an overwrap using coban, vetwrap or even an ace bandage. If you see blood oozing through the bandage within hours, get him to an emergency clinic. Otherwise, just change the bandage twice a day until you see your vet. A little blood on the pad is OK.
