What's this small, non-sore bump on my dog's front leg near her paw?

I can see the small, raised, slightly red hairless lump on Hazel's paw in the photo. This may be a bug bite, localized skin infection, or a mass (which is less likely in younger dogs). I recommend having the area examined by a vet to determine the underlying cause and begin the appropriate treatment. In the meantime, you can get Hazel an E-collar or "cone" to prevent her licking the area and causing further trauma and irritation.

I'm not sure from the picture if it's just the mass the side a little bigger than your thumb nail, or if the entire 6 inch round area around the main bump is red. Either way, I would be worried about a growth first and then perhaps an insect bite if you've only noticed it today. Young dogs can have a type of mass called a histiocytoma that is benign and goes away on it's own eventually. I would recommend a vet visit if it's growing in size, just to be on the safe side.

This is likely to resolve on its own as long as you prevent any further self-trauma (preventing her from licking at it for example). You can get an e-collar from your local pet store or simply just keep a very close eye on her to prevent further self-trauma. In most cases of mild infections, if this is done at home, they can resolve as long as you keep that area clean. If no improvement of worsening is noted in the next 3-4 days, then have her examined by your veterinarian. However, there is a good chance she can do well at home. She is adorable! Ouch! With any new growth like this, it's best to have your vet take a look in person, as it isn't really possible to determine what is causing the growth just from a photo. Your vet can take a sample of the growth as needed with a fine-needle aspirate, or biopsy, to check what cell type is present and if the spot needs further attention. Other causes can be calluses from rubbing, scabbing from a wound or infection under the skin, or other issues. Until you can get to the vet, it's best to keep the area clean and dry and prevent Ginger from licking or chewing at it with an Elizabethan (cone) collar or sock over the spot. Monitoring it for any additional changes such as size, oozing debris, pain, etc, is also a good idea as these observations can help your vet narrow down the cause and best treatment plan.

This looks like a small growth in the skin. It could be a scar or reaction from previous injury or it may be a tumour. Tumours van be benign or cancerous. I would not panic overly about this as it doesnt look too nasty, keep an eye and get it checked if it is changing quickly. If you ate worried you could have it tested to know what it is exactly.
