My dog is sluggish with penile discharge and leg stains. Is it normal?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 65 lbs

Our 1.5 year old Boxer was acting sluggish and not his normal energetic self. A couple days later I noticed some discharge from his penis that left stains on the inside of each leg. Is that an infection or normal discharge?

Some discharge is quite normal, but if you are noticing it staining his legs then I imagine he may have an infection which is causing more to be produced. I would take him to your vet to be examined so they can decide if he needs some medical treatment.
