My dog scratches a lot. Can vitamins or oils help with skin allergies?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | spayed | 60 lbs

My 9 year old golden retriever is scratching and licking her skin a lot. She has been on Aquopel but i’m Wondering if there is a vitamin she may be lacking or an oil I can add to her food that would be more natural for her

Skin allergies are non related to oils, minerals or vitamins so non of those are likely to help unfortunately, the two options are either to find the source of the allergy and eliminate it from her environment or food, or using a medication such as Apoquel which you are already doing.
