Why is my dog shaking her head and scratching her ear after a bath?

I would actually be more concerned that Zeke has developed an ear infection. It's possible that the moisture from the bath caused an overgrowth of yeast or bacteria, but it's also possible that he has an underlying allergy leading to an infection. I'd recommend seeing your vet so they can examine his ear. They might recommend taking a sample for cytology to look for yeast and/or bacteria under the microscope. They can prescribe medications if it does seem consistent with an infection.

The signs you are describing are indicative of an ear infection. Sometimes, these can resolve with topical over the counter treatment, but antibiotics or antifungal medication may be necessary. I recommend using an ear cleaning solution or wipes to clean the ear once or twice a day. This could only last a few hours or so and then she may be ok. However, if she has been scratching at her ear, she may have a very mild ear infection that could benefit from medications. Alternatively, she could be having allergies since she was also seen to be sneezing and allergies can cause itchy ears. I agree, it sounds like Voodoo is having a problem with her ears, and I suspect an ear infection. The problem with waiting a few weeks is that this is going to get worse, and if she keeps shaking her head, she will develop an aural hematoma which means more treatment. It would be Rambler has an ear infection. That would cause her to shake her head a lot, scratch at her ear, and whine in pain when scratching the ear. Ear infections in dogs can be caused by ear mites, yeast, or bacteria. A vet is needed to diagnose if she does have an ear infection, what's causing, and to prescribe medication to treat it. This would be typical for an ear infection. I recommend you schedule a vet visit for Layla. This could be a bacterial, fungal or mite infection or caused by an allergy. Excessive head shaking can cause an othematome ( burst blood vessels in the ear flaps which then can cause crippling of the ear. So I would not wait long for an appointment with your veterinarian.
