My healthy dog shakes when lying down, but isn't cold. What's wrong?

These can be symptoms of many serious medical issues, anxiety, fear, pain, neurologic disease, infection, etc. I would recommend that you have him checked out by a vet to see what could be going on. After a thorough physical exam and discussion of his recent history, the vet may recommend diagnostics, such as blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. to diagnose the cause.

If this is unusual behavior for your dog I would be concerned that there's something wrong. Shaking and lethargy can be indicative of pain, anxiety or that the pet just isn't feeling well. I would recommend that you take her to be seen by your regular veterinarian. A thorough examination will help determine what may be wrong and how to make her feel better

Shaking can sometimes be an indication of pain or discomfort in dogs or can be a symptom of certain endocrine diseases. I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. In this case, it is very hard to say for certain what is going on with Mya without examining her first. A veterinary exam would be a good place to start so she can be evaluated head to tail. If she is unvaccinated for distemper, I would potentially consider this as a possibility but in older animals, distemper is not commonly seen. She may be uncomfortable from something (painful) or an infection / systemic disease. If adjusting the temperature to keep her warm does not help, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Miss. Trembling can indicate pain in a dog. This could be belly pain especially if she has had any vomiting or diarrhea. It can be from muscle or joint pain or perhaps she is experiencing anxiety. Thunderstorms and fireworks are big causes for anxiety this time of year. It sounds like your dog should be seen by a vet for a thorough examination to determine the cause. I am concerned that he looks like he is ready to pass out so please call your vet or go to an emergency clinic. It could be caused by pain, parasites, metabolic/endocrine disease, infection, etc. and your vet can do a workup to diagnose and then determine what treatment is needed.

There could be a couple of reasons why Elliot is shaking constantly. These things include pain, being cold, injury, fever, nausea, or a serious illness. I'm not sure if she is showing any other signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, limping, or lethargy. If she is only shaking but is otherwise behaving normally, eating normally, drinking normally, and moving normally, it's fine to wait until Monday to have her seen a vet for this problem. Keep her quiet and warm, and rest her as much as possible. Should she start showing other signs such as the ones I mentioned above or any other concerning ones, then I would take her into a vet right away for evaluation and treatment. I hope this helps!
