My dog was outside yesterday when I heard him whining. I let him in and ever since he's been super scared of the backyard, is whining and just wants to look out the window. We can't find any marks on him, and we went around the neighborhood and checked everyone was ok. He's eating and drinking ok but not sleeping as very alert. Concerned about his behavior and wanting to know if we should be worried/what we should do?

I am so sorry that Jack is experiencing this unsettled state. From what you are describing it seems likely something has startled him, this could have been a loud noise, a strange smell, spotting of another wild animal, or even an insect bite. Because Jack seems well in himself physically I would continue to monitor him at home. Try the following to help him calm and eel more secure;
A long walk
A special treat like boiled boneless chicken breast
A dog chew
A food puzzle
Quality time sitting together and using verbal praise
If you notice any of the following, it could be possible that something medical is occurring. If this is the case please post another question here so we can further advise you;
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Lethargy
Collapse
Hives
Redness
Swelling
Inappetance
