Dog scabs in armpits/thighs. Mites or folliculitis? Pet store remedy?

I would also consider bathing with a shampoo such as Douxo PS Calm shampoo, which can be found online quite easily and bathe twice weekly until resolved. It could be an allergy or an infection. Hard to say without an exam and some testing. You can try using this medicated spray on the affected area . If after a week or so of treating her the skin doesn't look much better then she should see a vet. You would use one spray every day to every other day until the lesions have resolved. I would recommend the following: 1. Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent 3. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply this to the affected area 2-3 times per day If there is no improvement after using the above or the skin condition becomes much worse, I would have a veterinarian examine this so that the most appropriate treatment can be recommended and further testing be performed if needed. If there is a secondary bacterial infection, I would recommend using product called Duoxo Chlorhexidine + Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend picking up a hydrocortisone spray (Well and Good at Petco) and apply daily to the affected area to relieve inflammation. HI, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Summer! Your Vet has tried a lot. My suggestion at this point is to see a dermatologist. I would have him on Nexgard or Bravecto to cover fleas, demodex and scabies despite the injections. I would start an omega 3 fish oil (see link). I would also do several seeks of an antibiotic and antiyeast. I would also use cytopoint. The dermatolgist can do skin testing as well for environmental allergies. You can try a thin layer of the quadriderm cream on the areas once daily but he can not lick it so you have to use an E-collar. It also will only help the symptoms you see not the underlying cause of his allergies. Do not use it for more than 1 week. This area commonly stays moist and can develop a skin infection because of this. I would recommend using Malacetic Conditioning Spray (can be found online) and apply to the area twice daily until resolved. I would also recommend using a steroid spray (Petco has a spray called Well & Good Hydrocortisone spray) and apply twice daily as well to help relieve inflammation.
