My dog loves fruit. Which fruits are safe for dogs, like apple or kiwi?

Hello there! Luckily, most fruits vegetables are quite healthy for our pets. Here are some you want to avoid: Avocado Onion Garlic Chives Apple cores and seeds (apple slices are ok) The green parts of a tomato (red parts are ok) Cherries (seeds, leaves, and stems are toxic) Apricots (seeds, leaves, and stems are toxic) Grapes and raisins Wild mushrooms (grocery store mushrooms are ok) Currants Green potatoes (cooked, ripe potatoes are ok) Rhubarb I find that many dogs like baby carrots, green beans, and peeled apple slices. Yes, you are allowed to give her a slice of apple to play with and eat as a treat. Other nice treats would be boiled carrot pieces, cucumber pieces and melon pieces, green beans. Definitely healthier than commercial treats,

Stick with peas, carrots, green beans, blue berries, apples and bananas. Some dogs also like zucchini and pumpkin. Fresh, frozen, canned (no salt added) or cooked (no spices/oil) are all fine. I hope this helps.

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Dogs can have fruits and vegetables and in particular some vegetables are good for teeth and digestion, like pumpkin or squash. Fruits that are good for dogs are apples, bananas, strawberries. Avoid any fruit that has pits as these can cause obstructions (peaches, nectarines, plums, etc). Avoid garlic, onions, grapes, raisins and chocolate- these are all very toxic to dogs. Carrots, cucumber, celery, broccoli, are all good as well. Best of luck with Toffee.

Carrots, squash, green beans and peas are all good choices, and a lot of dogs actually like them. Broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers are safe but generally not as "dog approved." Never feed onions, garlic, or chives, as these will cause red blood cell damage that will lead to life threatening anemia when ingested in large enough quantities. Most fruits and vegetables are fine. You need to avoid grapes, raisins, onions, garlic or any fruits/veggies that are within these families. Choose vegetables low in phosphorus such as sweet potato, pumpkin and squash. Carrots, green beans and peas can also be used. Apple (no seeds), sliced peaches, pineapple, pear and mango can all be used, but in moderation since too much may lead to stomach upset.
