My dog is sad and sleeping a lot. Could it be boredom or an illness?

I'm very sorry Sadie isn't feeling well! I can understand they you might be worried, but it is a good sign that she is eating every meal and drinking water. Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and it can be caused by many different things such as systemic illness, infection, injury, or inflammation. I would monitor her for now, and if she is still lethargic in 24-48 hours, I would take her into the vet for a health check.

It possible that Bonnie is sick. You always need to pay attention to a change in behavior. Just like humans, being tired/lethargic can be caused by many things from viruses to pancreatitis. Any time pets are feeling sick beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have them see the veterinarian. The doctor will check for a fever, dehydration as well as any signs of discomfort. Sometimes they will recommend diagnostics such as bloodwork to check for any signs of toxins or elevated WBC. We can have systemic illness causing them to just feel lousy and therefore not being as interactive as normal (imagine if you have the flu or a bad cold and just feel tired/like you don't want to do anything). For these reasons, I would recommend a visit to your vet if Archie is having changes as you describe in his energy/enthusiasm. The vet can do a good physical exam to check for any abnormalities, and may recommend doing bloodwork to screen for underlying diseases.

Since Lola has been sick for a few days now, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian. Just like people, pets can get sick for many many reasons. This could range from a bacterial infection to an intestinal blockage. Any pet that is not feeling well for longer than 48 hours should be examined since some illness can be life threatening. I suspect the new behavior is related to not feeling well but again, it's impossible to say. I hope this helps and that she starts feeling better quickly.

Hello. It certainly is possible that this is normal for Chi. If her eating/drinking habits have not changed, she seems well, no coughing or problems eliminating, then I would not be too concerned.
