Dog sad, lost appetite after being alone. How to make her normal?

However, it is very likely that she will normalize soon perhaps in a few days. One thing you can do is entice her appetite by adding things like pieces of chicken or beef to her food for a few days just to encourage her to eat. If there is no improvement in the next few days then have her examined by your veterinarian to ensure there is not a medical reason to explain this. Good luck!

A decrease appetite and lethargy are common after the passing of a housemate as they go through a depression. Since Asuna was willing to eat and is not having any vomiting or diarrhea I wouldn’t worry too much. Not eating for a couple of days because she was stressed and missing you should not affect her overall health. I'm sorry to hear that Precious isn't feeling well. It is very common that dogs will have a decreased appetite when it gets too hot for them. And this can last for a little while. Our air conditioning did not work for a day last summer and it took a couple of days for my dogs to get back to normal. So, if Precious is otherwise feeling and acting normally, it may just take her a little more time for her appetite to return to normal. Depending on what food you are feeding and how it is preserved, another problem we can have with dry food that is exposed to high temperatures is that the oils can start to go rancid. I would not expect it to be a problem after only a couple of days, but that is also something to be aware of. I will often have owners buy a new bag of the same food to see if their dog will eat that. That will sometimes tell me if the bag of food is starting to spoil. If Precious develops any other signs such as lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea or her appetite continues to decline, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her. Good luck! It sounds like Hayley is missing your husband. If she is hiding a lot, and also is not eating and drinking much at all, it would be best to have her evaluated by your vet to make sure there's no medical explanation for her change in behavior that needs to be addressed. If her physical exam and any tests (blood tests, etc) that your vet recommends are all normal, then we would say that, yes--this is a behavioral problem. If that is the case, it may help to consult with a behaviorist and trainer; however here's a few things you can try at home. -if she's more bonded to him than you, work on forging that bond with you more. Keep treats that she likes in your pocket. Take her for walks. Give her one on one attention away from the other dogs. This might help. -Do all the dogs get along?
